Class Information
Ashtanga Vinyasa (Vinyasa Flow) Yoga is perfect for those who want a serious workout. Developed by K. Pattabhi Jois, Ashtanga is physically demanding. Ashtanga Yoga involves performing a challenging sequence of poses with ujjayi breathing and vinyasas (a flow of postures) in order to build strength, flexibility, and stamina.
Hatha Yoga is the practice of physical yoga, or postures. This is an excellent class for beginners or anyone interested in exploring the nuances of the classic yoga postures. The flow and postures practiced will vary with each class and the room will NOT be heated.
Hot Yoga is a series of postures (asanas) practiced in a room heated between 90 and 100 degrees F, so be prepared to sweat a lot. The heat is designed to warm your muscles, prevent injury, allow a deeper stretch, and cleanse the body by flushing toxins through sweat. Each posture stretches, strengthens and prepares muscles, ligaments, and joints for the next posture. Each posture is usually performed twice and held for a certain period of time
